In Second Life, The Spartan Empire represents both a cultural and a combat venues. Containing a big piece of Greek history, with art exhibitions, which has been on display for 7 years at the Museum, a great library containing nearly 500 books to read about Spartan and Greek Mythology. Also, events such as stage plays, rehearsals, concerts, tournaments, contests, all in ancient Greek thematic environment. These are all open to every visitor who visits our majestic sim.

We, the Spartan Empire will provide you a great and fun role playing experience. You can either choose to be in the Army or help in the events as a council. What's so good about this empire is that not only we fight against our opposing team but we also held tremendous events such as concerts, tournaments and many more!. We, the Spartan Empire is one of the Ancient Army to have last for many years and we are proud to be able to stand this long. Not only because we are governed by a systematic order but we also treat each other as a family.
The first moment you land on the sim, you will see the marketplace. In here, you will find a lot of medieval, ancient items like clothing, jewelries, weapons and many more. It's a delightful experience to just stop by and shop around and see what's in store on your spare time.
This is our very own Sparta Harbor Theater. One of my favorite place as we held most of our concerts, events and parties here. I love to decorate this place because you don't need to put a lot of effort to make it beautiful, the place is already magical just the way it is.
Overlooking the Mediterranean sea, The harbor is located at the docks where we set sail to fight navy or sea battles against our vicious enemies on ship.
One of the most historical landmark In Sparta. Our beloved Apella building, where we held our gathering as one army. This is where we stand and kneel before the king to report on the outcome of our battle, held promotions and announcements. It is done every Tuesday of the week. We start off by the beginning of a prayer that is done by our own Priest.
Our Spartan village, Here you can find our very own Villas. There are lots of houses to choose from, from small cottages to a high rise temple-like structures.
Made from marbles and stones, our Greek architecture buildings stands out from the rest of the ancient world. Villas are pay for rent, if you want to know the price, come and check it inworld.. However, all houses are currently rented. none is available as of now.
Another prehistoric landmark that you can find in Sparta. Its is our very own Arena. we held many of our tournaments such as our weekly 1 versus one 1 and Free For All "FFA" events. Many of the "beginners" or fresh fighters start out here and i know most of you in ancient world learned how to fight on this same ground, the warriors will never be forgotten for their footprints are embedded on this very soil.
My number one favorite place in Sparta, The Statue of King Leonidas. This is where we usually hang out and socialize with our fellow brothers and sisters or watch raid battles against our enemies. Standing beside this historical monument somehow gives you the feeling of security right under the arms of King Leonidas.
Ah! the most used landmark in Sparta, Our great battlefield and my so called playground, this is where the bloody action of the war happens. Win or lose, a Spartan will never surrender at the arms of their enemies. To the great king Leonidas and the brave 300!
Right beside the border of the sim, there is a small pathway that leads you to the Athenian Empire. You might want to check them out after.
Today, Sparta maintains it;s good design, boasting large and wide sim that is lined with trees and architectural buildings, while many of the older buildings remain in excellent condition. Sparta is the only Ancient sim to have been the same look as it was before.

Sparta has always been the topic of cultural inspiration. Such admiration of the Spartans is referred to as Laconism or Laconophilia. The famous Battle of Thermopylae for ages has been the topic for various artists, as it is perhaps the most famous military last stand of all times.
In Greek mythology, Sparta was the daughter of Eurotas and wife of Lacedaemon. The city of Sparta is said to have been named after her, however, the city was often called Lacedaemon as well. The two names were used interchangeably. Sparta was represented on a sacrificial tripod at Amyclae. She was said to be a fair and beautiful maiden worth defending and protecting at all costs.
